Tanya Montgomery’s work is influenced by the desert landscape. Originally from Melbourne, her work reflects her training as a graphic designer and her astute observation of colour.

In her twelve years living in the Pilbara town of Dampier, she was actively involved with local art groups as Chairperson of Dampier Arts Studio (2012-17), was appointed Member, Arts and Events Advisory Committee with City of Karratha (2017-2020) and forged a strong profile in arts practice and art education. Monty has engaged communities including primary schools, secondary schools, seniors groups, at risk and disability groups across a variety of art disciplines including puppetry, public sculpture, painting, printmaking workshops.
